CF
Publications, Inc., was formed in 1999 by Dan and Judy Shuey. After
collecting Winchester firearms, cartridges and accouterments; along with Mills
Woven Cartridge Belts and their associated products it was felt the knowledge
and information gained should be shared with others. Cartridges of the
Winchester brand held the keenest interest. A journey was begun that would
take us across country on research trips, even on our honeymoon! After
several years of forming the information and specimens, noted illustrator Eugene
Scranton was called upon to perform the needed drawings to illustrate our work.
All this culminated in the printing of Volume I on Winchester ammunition in 1999.
This work has continued to now print Volume II in 2003.
uring
2001, we were made aware of a large amount of original Winchester factory
information that had become available. This was the estate of Walter M.
Bellemore, a forty-plus year employee of Winchester. Mr. Bellemore's
family had also spent many years with the Company. Noted Winchester
cartridge historian and Company employee Paul S. Foster was close friends with
Walter Bellemore; as was Merton A. Robinson, Chief
Ballistician at New Haven for decades. Original information from the estates of both men came into
possession of Walter Bellemore and now to WCF Publications.
ith
the first hand information from these long-time employees, we will be able to
further the study and history of Winchester cartridges and related products of
the "Big Red W."
